irony

If you drive a road-hogging Suburban, you shouldn't honk at cyclists... you know the old saying "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones". The only occasion I can think of in which someone actually needed a Suburban was when I visited the King's Ranch (a foster home for children). Thus, a Suburban is just as discretionary as a bike. Also, it would take me a few hours to count the number of times in which, as a car driver, my view was blocked by a huge Suburban or other 4-ton SUV in front of me.

Yeah, I admit I never realized how useful a Suburban might be for a family with lots of kids until a former acquaintance of mine wound up buying a Tahoe simply because he had four kids under age eight. That vehicle did fit HIS needs perfectly. But I am not wild about getting stuck on 280 behind one, either--can't see anything in front of me.

I still don't buy it. When I was growing up, everybody had a station wagon, which were not any higher than an average sedan and not much wider, either. Nobody found themselves unable to survive in those circumstances.
