I was so tired of the toilets breaking in my house, so this weekend I bought a new toilet. I know someone who likes me a lot since he will install a toilet for me. This included scraping off gross-looking rust from the pipe in the floor after the old toilet was removed.
I bought a Kohler and it has, of course, cheap plastic parts in the tank. They'll break in a month, but what a NICE month it's going to be! Once it was installed, I experienced great excitement over a toilet that flushes correctly. The awe and wonderment may subside in a few weeks. :)

I'm guessing your father installed it for you. He is my model of parental kindness. I'll bet the Kohler lasts longer than a month. Unless Ruby spends her days flushing the toilet over and over.

My boyfriend did this installation, however, my father has done a lot of dirty jobs for me and his back hurts because he took care of three daughters.
Ruby asked me yesterday if she could poop on it. That's how she blesses new things.

My incredible brother did the grunt work when I wanted to put in a new "full chair height" (or "comfort") model. Best thing I ever did for the BR. I have a bad hip joint and not having to lever myself up from one of those low-slung things makes a hah-yooge difference.
May your plastic parts outlast the metal parts I'm going to have to have put in me!
