The new Whole Foods has STROOPWAFELS! I have been looking for stroopwafels since my trip to the Netherlands in 1995. (I never give up on food.)
And the new Whole Foods has green tea ice cream!! And tuna burgers! And a bunch of new kinds of salsa that I haven't tried yet! And pre-prepared meals that actually look edible! And bakery items that don't look like mass-produced crap!
I am very excited.
We have other fancy markets, like Tria, which is too expensive all around, and Fresh Market, which carries mostly the same products that grocery stores sell (in the dry goods section). Whole Foods is better because it has a lot of products I have never seen before. I noticed that the prices in the dry goods section are steep on some things and reasonable on other items. For now (I don't know if this will continue) they are marking down the prices of some items significantly.

You mentioned a store that is near and dear to my heart. I eat lunch at Wholefoods at least twice a week (when I'm not traveling) and I am fanatical about their produce.

Well, they don't nickname it 'Whole Paycheck' (see http://www.google.com/search?q=whole-paycheck ) for nothing -- but I'm glad it's finally in the 'Ham.
