Home renovations

I'm waaaaay excited about the progress I've made recently on the unconquerable "ugly room" in my house. Here are the before and after photos. It's now my favorite room in the house! My family helped me with some of the work and I hired a tile guy to lay the flooring, but most of it was sweat equity. And of course I appreciate the help that my family contributed.

The travertine looks fantastic! But from the arrangement of chairs, I'm going to assume that you're not going to use the firelpace for a fire,eh?
And I can't say that the paneling is greatly to my taste but painted it's nice. My ex & I painted paneling in our house that was forbiddingly dark. We had to use Killz or whiter shellac because whatever finish was on the paneling would leach right through ordinary paint.

I use the fireplace maybe twice a year. Especially not this winter - we've had 65 degree days for most of the season.

Paneling is not my first choice, either, but I did not want to absorb the cost of removing it and installing sheetrock.

Very, very nice. It looks terrific. And the paneling is great -- I'm not a fan either, but this is a nice choice. It looks very "Southern Living"!!

I like the color. Just bought a comforter by LL Bean with the same; Bay Leaf.
